A ray of hope flickers in the sky
A tiny star lights up way up high
All across the land dawns a brand new morn'
This comes to pass when a child is born

 

희망의 빛이 저 하늘에서 빛난답니다
높이 뜬 작은 별도 빛난답니다
방방곡곡에서 새 아침이 밝아오고요
이런 일들은 한 아이가 태어날 때 일어나지요

A silent fish sails the seven seas
The winds of change whisper in the trees
And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn
This comes to pass when a child is born

 

바다속의 고기도 7대양을 헤엄치고
세월의 미풍이 나뭇가지에서 살랑이지요
의심의 말들도 사라지고요
이런 일들은 한 아이가 태어날 때 일어나지요

A rosy hue settles all around
You got the feel you're on solid ground
For a spell or two no one　 seems forlorn
This comes to pass when a child is born

 

온 누리도 장미 빛 이슬로 물들고
아무도 절망하지 않고
안도의 기쁨을 느끼게 되지요
이런 일들은 한 아이가 태어날 때 일어나지요

And all of this happens because
The world is waiting, waiting for one child
Black white yellow
No one　 knows but a child that will grow up
And turn tears into laughter
Hate to love war to peace
And everyone to everyone's neighbor
And misery and suffering will be words
To be forgotten forever

 

모든이가 기다리지요 한 아이를 기다리니까요
새까만 피부 하얀 피부 그리고 노란 피부
아무도 몰라요
그렇지만 그 아이는 커서 눈물을 웃음으로
증오를 사랑으로 전쟁을 평화로
모든 사람을 모든 이웃으로 바꾸어주기를
불행과 고통의 말은 이 세상에서
영원히 사라지기를
